My name is Molena Misti, but you can call me Molena or Misti, whatever is easiest to remember:) I have four children & I am married. My first child was born when I was 18 years old, my 2ndwhen I was 20, 3rd 27 years, 4rth 35 years. I was a young girl when my interest in beauty began, in a most unexpected way. I was on my own at 14, when I became emancipated from a family that adopted 10 kids – most of whom, like myself, ran away from the home. After becoming emancipated, I lived on the streets with my sister Christina. We were lucky enough to meet a wonderful lady to take me & my sister in (Cecelia & we call her mom) – who happened to be a hair stylist. She inspired my entire career. Jump forward to when I am 18, I start to work as a freelancer & eventually start my own salon, Beglamalicious. Jump ahead some years to me being Head Artist Leading Reputable Lush Beauty Studio, which was in operation from 2007-2019. With a heavy heart mixed with excitement, I left the studio in the summer of 2019. That decision was a ripple effect of tragically losing Christina suddenly in 2013, I suffered an injury with my back and couldn’t give my all anymore. I decided I wanted a change in my life, a change in my career, easier, simpler – and to be honest I not equipped to handle the mass amount of work it takes to work with a big team, in a salon environment daily. The work load was time consuming and literally absorbed my whole life. I lost so much time working 18 hours a day for YEARS. Weddings Friday to Sunday, apts 7 days a week, team management, etc etc 7 days a week. The company earned over 300 positive reviews online on Major platforms such as Wedding Wire, Google, was featured on many sites (Toronto Life/Elegant Wedding/Style me Pretty etc) & won many awards. So the efforts of us Artists is well rewarded, but I needed more time for myself & my family. I gained weight, I didn’t have time to properly mourn the crossing over of my sister Christina, I stopped looking great, my maintenance dropped. Much worse I had not been on a vacation ever – yes I said ever. I have gone to see my family in NL twice, but that’s it. No trips internationally to other countries, no island getaways. Hopefully when you are reading this, I have gone somewhere! All though I loved the experience, it ran it course and it was just time for me to say goodbye to salon work & venture into a new chapter in life. #MyNewBeginning I am SO stoked about becoming a beauty influencer! I will continue to be a bridal expert, I love bridal!! I mean, of course there are a couple brides a year that gave me some serious anxiety/stress (and anyone who tells you otherwise is NOT being honest – ppl are ppl & woman are woman) but I live for the joy of making people happy:) I love the end result, the happiness, the tears, the emotional connection, the new friendships. Yess oh yess, give me more of that! So becoming an influencer just seems like the right move for me! I have 30 years of beauty & people experience. Tons of stories, wisdom, knowledge, to pass on. Speaking of, I have written content – I developed a 192 hour Makeup Artistry vocational program, which was reviewed y the ministry, adult education experts & topic matter experts & was deemed/approved to meet all of the core knowledge & skill required, for a student to thoroughly educate to become successful in their field. Let me tell you, that was no easy feat. I dedicated four months to developing the program, curriculum, grading system, & succeeded. A total of 48 months to get the program registered! I want to note, the program was NOT based off of research, it was all my knowledge from years of experience. Experts in adult education & topic matter reviewed all content to sign off to the ministry. I am very proud of this! I have also developed a Bridal Manager for new artists & experienced artists to help them run their business and educate themselves on the brides & the bridal industry. Of this I am also proud! #MyFavoritethings I absolutely LOVE poutine, house music, strobe lights, movies, black clothes, paying it forward, fine dining, dancing, jewellry, black hair, giving, purses, shoes, tattoos, people who wear clean socks (don’t ask), honesty, & my family.
